Collision involving SUV in Sarasota leaves motorcyclist dead

SARASOTA, FL – A 20-year-old man died Saturday when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on a busy roadway in south Sarasota, reports WFLA News Channel 8.

The incident happened at 1:10 p.m. on Clark Road near Sawyer Road, which is southeast of Red Bug Slough Preserve.

Police say that an SUV turned in front of the biker as he headed west on Clark Road, at which point the motorcycle collided with the SUV.

The motorcyclist died after transport to a local hospital. He was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the SUV sustained mild injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
