Deputy on motorcycle hurt in crash with SUV in Ponte Vedra

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL – A deputy with the Sheriff’s Office  was hospitalized with serious injuries Tuesday after colliding with an SUV at a busy intersection in Ponte Vedra Beach, reports Action News Jax.

The incident happened around 3:53 p.m. at the intersection of Palm Valley Road and Corridor Road South, which is just west of Florida State Road A1A.

The investigation thus far indicates that a northbound SUV struck the motorcycle deputy while turning left from Palm Valley onto Corridor Road South. At the time of the crash, the deputy was travelling south with its emergency lights activated.

Medics transported the officer to the hospital with serious injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
