Pedestrian struck, killed by motorcycle in Bradenton

BRADENTON, FL – One man died, and two people were seriously injured Tuesday when a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian along a busy roadway in Bradenton, reports Observer.

The incident happened around noon in the area of State Road 70 and 87th Street East, which is just east of I-75.

Police say a 64-year-old male pedestrian attempted to walk across the westbound side of State Road 70.  He was struck by a westbound Harley Davidson and died at the scene of the crash.

The 63-year-old male driver of the motorcycle and his 58-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries when they were ejected from the bike. Medics transported them to a local hospital. Officials say they were wearing safety helmets at the time of the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
