1 killed, 1 hurt in New Smyrna motorcycle vs. SUV crash

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL – A man died, and a woman went to the hospital Sunday morning after a motorcycle and SUV collided along a state highway in Volusia County, reports Click Orlando.

The incident happened around 12:01 a.m. on State Road 415 south of Quail Ranch Road, which is near Quail Roost Ranches.

The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound motorcycle veered into the northbound lane of traffic and collided head-on with an SUV.

The 53-year-old motorcyclist from Heathrow died at the scene of the crash.

Medics airlifted the 43-year-old female driver of the SUV to a local hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation is underway.
