Motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle crash in Seminole

SEMINOLE, FL – A 57-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday night after his motorcycle crashed along a busy roadway in Seminole, reports WFLA News 8.

The incident happened at 11:03 p.m. at the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and Bay Pines Boulevard, which is just south of Seminole Mobile Home Park.

The investigation indicates that the victim lost control of his southbound 2005 Yamaha V-Star motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail. The force of the collision threw the motorcyclist from his bike, and he died after transport to a local hospital.

Authorities identified the victim as James Bartlett, Jr. They say he was speeding and likely intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
