April 20, 2023

CLEARWATER, FL – Both a motorcyclist and a police officer went to the hospital after a collision at a busy intersection  in Clearwater on Wednesday night, reports The Free Press.

The incident happened at 11:39 p.m. at the intersection of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and McMullen Booth Road, which is just northeast of Bayview Park.

The investigation indicates that the westbound motorcyclist neglected to stop for a red light and collided with the police cruiser as the latter attempted to turn left from southbound McMullen Booth Road onto eastbound Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.

Medics transported both drivers to the hospital. The police officer sustained minor injuries in the accident. The motorcyclist’s injuries were non-life threatening.

A full investigation is underway.
