2-vehicle crash kills motorcyclist in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, FL – A 25-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday evening when a sedan struck him along a busy roadway near the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, reports The Gainesville Sun.

The incident happened at 6:20 p.m. on Southwest Archer Road near Southwest 58th Drive, which is just west of the Must Love Dogs Park.

The investigation thus far indicates that the motorcycle collided with a sedan. The motorcyclist was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the cash and died at the scene.

The 61-year-old driver of the sedan did not sustain injuries.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the two vehicles to collide. A full investigation is underway.
