28-year-old man killed in Port Charlotte motorcycle crash

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL – A multi-vehicle collision in Port Charlotte Wednesday night claimed the life of a Punta Gorda man.

According to a report by WINK, the 28-year-old motorcyclist was eastbound on Edgewater drive at about 10:30 when an SUV pulled into his path from Severin Road Southeast.

The motorcyclist veered off the roadway and overturned before striking the SUV’s passenger side. The rider was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

It is unclear at this time if the driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old Port Charlotte man, will be charged or cited in connection to the fatal crash. Our team will provide any additional information should it be released to the public.
