FORT MYERS, FL – A bicyclist died, and a motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in a collision involving an SUV on a major Fort Myers roadway on Sunday, reports abc 7 News.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on the eastbound side of Lee Boulevard. The cross street is unclear at this time.
The investigation indicates that a motorcyclist struck a cyclist as the latter person attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of Lee Boulevard. The force of the collision threw both the motorcyclist and the cyclist to the ground, at which point a Kia Sportage struck the cyclist. The Kia then fled the scene.
The bicyclist died at the scene of the accident, and the motorcyclist went to the hospital with serious injuries.
