ORMOND BEACH, FL – A 60-year-old motorcyclist died at the hospital Saturday afternoon after his bike collided with a minivan at a busy intersection in Ormond Beach, reports Click Orlando.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of North Nova Road and Sterthaus Drive, which is just north of West Granada Boulevard.
Police say the 88-year-old driver of the minivan entered the path of the motorcycle when he began to turn left from Sterthaus Drive onto southbound Nova Road. The motorcyclist was headed northbound on North Nova Road when he struck the minivan.
Medics transported the motorcyclist to the hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities identified him as Rutledge Wayne Boushell from Daytona Beach.
The driver of the minivan, identified as Jimmy Dean Hogan, went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
