Motorcycle vs. SUV crash kills 1 on SR-44 in Leesburg

LEESBURG, FL – A 41-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday after his bike collided with an SUV along the highway in west-central Lake County, reports Click Orlando.

The incident happened at night on the westbound side of SR-44 near Euclid Avenue, which is just northwest of Rogers Park Splash Pad.

The investigation thus far indicates that a westbound motorcycle collided with a westbound black Kia SUV on SR-44.

The motorcyclist, identified as Rodney J. Balderas , died after transport to a local hospital.

It is unclear if the 73-year-old driver of the SUV sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
