Motorcyclist killed in 2-vehicle crash in Arcadia

ARCADIA, FL – A 78-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday evening in Arcadia when his bike collided with a van along the highway, reports WWSB News.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. on the northbound side of US-17 just south of Hammock Road.

Police say the northbound motorcyclist struck a southbound van in the left lane of the highway. The biker was attempting to move from the right to the left lane at the time of the accident.

Medics transported the motorcyclist to the hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the collision.

No other injuries have been reported in connection with the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
