SUV hits, kills motorcyclist at St Cloud intersection

ST. CLOUD, FL – A 45-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after an SUV struck him at a busy intersection in north-central Osceola County, reports WFTV 9.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of North Narcoossee Road and Lake Park Avenue, which is between Dan Smith Road and Jones Road.

The investigation thus far indicates that the SUV driver entered the path of the southbound motorcycle when the she initiated a left turn from eastbound Lake Park Avenue onto northbound Narcoossee Road. The motorcyclist was headed south on Narcoossee Road at the time of the collision.

Medics transported the motorcyclist to the hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in crash. Authorities have not yet released his identity but say he was from Melbourne.

The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries in the accident. She remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

A full investigation is underway.
