Vehicle rear-ends, kills motorcyclist on SR-44 in Wildwood

WILDWOOD, FL – A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck him from behind on a highway in northeast Sumter County, reports Click Orlando.

The incident happened around 5:50 a.m. near the intersection of SR-44 and County Road 44A, which is just west of Lake Deaton.

The full circumstances of the crash are unclear, but police say that a 44-year-old male driver from The Villages rear-ended the motorcyclist on SR-44. 

The 65-year-old biker died at the scene of the crash.

It is unclear if the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries in the crash. A full investigation is underway.
